ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the effects of two different gauze folding patterns used in local hemostasis after peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC).Methods A total of 152 patients were selected and divided into two groups according to PICC date sequence as control group of 72 patients using 2.0 cm× 2.0 cm little gauze to oppress the puncture point and observation group of 80 patients using 1.0 cm× 1.5 cm gauze ball made by ourselves to oppress the puncture point. The oozing of the puncture point was observed in patients of the two groups. Results The hemostasis was better in the observation group than in the control group (x2=15.88,P<0.01).No limb swelling happened to the patients in the observation group (x2=58.064,P<0.01).There was statistically significant difference in hemostatic effect between the two groups. Conclusion The sterile gauze ball made by ourselves has a good effect on local hemostasis through oppressing the puncture point without any impact on blood circulation of limbs.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the effect of mind mapping-oriented health education on patient's fluid intake during hemodialysis intervals. Methods From June 2015 to April 2016, 72 patients with poor compliance with fluid intake were randomly divided into control group (n=36) and observation group (n=36). In the control group, routine health education was used and the observation group was treated with mind mapping-oriented health education. The two groups were compared before intervention and 6 months after that in terms of compliance with fluid intake and daily fluid intake, ultrafiltration volume and body weight gain/dry weight ratio and incidence of complications. Results In the observation group, the fluid intake compliance, daily fluid intake, ultrafiltration volume and body weight gain/dry weight ratio 6 months after intervention were superior to those of the control group (all P<0.05). The incidences of complications such as hypotension, hypertension, muscle spasms and cardiac arrhythmia were also significantly lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The health education based on mind mapping is helpful to enhance the degree of cognition of fluid intake compliance, improve self-efficacy of chronic diseases, control the growth of body weight during dialysis and reduce the incidence of complications.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: The reason for the short of cornea donator is the olden donating conception or the limit knowledge of cornea transplantation remains poorly understood. OBJECTIVE: To explore the awareness level of the medical staff to corneal transplantation and corneal donation. METHODS: The study consisted of 820 medical staff from different departments of 5 hospitals, including doctor, nurse, technician, and administrator. Awareness level was evaluated with an interviewer-study. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Totally 805 interviewer-studies were effect. The correct answer fill rate in department of ophthalmology was higher than other departments. Different measures should be taken to teach the medical staff to improve the awareness level of the transplantation and corneal donation.

ABSTRACT

By means of retrograde HRP tracing method, the innervation of the left half of cervical portion of oesophagus in cats was investigated in this study. The HRP-labelled cells were found bilaterally in the retrofacial nuclei, nuclei supraspinalis, nuclei dorsomedialis and ipsilaterally in the dorsal motor nucleus of the vagus nerve, solitary nucleus, nucleus ambiguus, intermediate zone, nucleus retroambiguus and spinal nucleus of the accessory nerve. The distribution of the labelled cells in the dorsal motor nucleus of vagus nerve showed certain localization characteristics. They were more numerous at the levels above and below the obex. The labelled sympathetic preganglionic neurons with long axons appeared in T_1-T_3 spinal segments at the injected side (88.96%) and mainly in T_2(66.45%). The majority of labelled cells were located in the intermediolateral nucleus(95.02%); and the rest were in the lateral funiculus, intercalated nucleus and dorsolateral nucleus of the ventral horn, there were two of preganglionic neurons (i.e. parasympathetic and sympathetic) innervating the oesophagus. The postganglionic neurons were mainly located in the stellate ganglion(61.99%), anterior and middle cervical ganglia, and T_2-T_5 ganglia of the sympathetic trunk, bilaterally. There were some labelled cells in the nodose ganglion and the C_1 to T_5 spinal ganglia(mainly in C_6 and T_2). The ratio between the labelled cells in the nodose ganglion and the spinal ganglia is 2.6:1, which means that the afferent fibres ran predominantly via vagus nerve.
